Dr Sebastian Rhames
Rhames was a junior physicist who pivoted into entrepreneurship early in his career, convinced that climate technology would become humanity’s salvation. Intelligent yet unfocused, he only narrowly completed his PhD while simultaneously building his climate-tech start-up, Helixon, which would eventually emerge as one of the world’s most promising providers of climate solutions. He owed much of his success to his muse and coursemate, Dr Xinyi Liao, whom he befriended despite her curt demeanour and deeply introverted nature. He would shrug it off with a charming smile and a witty remark - “just bouncing off ideas” - but he knew Liao had helped him more than once, not only through his studies but also during Helixon’s formative years.
Charismatic, optimistic, and driven by a conviction bordering on obsession, Rhames quickly earned the confidence of investors and transformed a modest start-up into a multi-billion-credit technology conglomerate within just a few years. Helixon’s meteoric rise established it as a powerhouse in climate technology, and through the careful acquisition of exceptional talent and innovative companies, it absorbed pioneering research, breakthrough technologies, and critical infrastructure into a single corporate giant. Thus, HelixCorp was born.
Yet Rhames did not stop there. Having lived through World War III and witnessed Earth’s fracture, he dreamed of a future in which humanity reclaims its lost lands through technological innovation. He worked feverishly to discover ever better ways to not merely survive, but to overcome the monstrous force of nature reclaiming the planet. When every conventional solution reached its limit, he turned to the only path remaining - one dismissed as impossible by almost everyone except his oldest ally, Dr Xinyi Liao: a theory that seeks to tear open the fabric of reality itself in search of a hidden fifth dimension.
